GLITCH

This series is called Glitch, after the digital glitch effect I applied to the images. It’s a mix of images I really, really wanted to make my own and a treatment I really, really wanted to experiment with. I love the tension between very old photos and very contemporary effects—the way the past bumps up against the present in something almost unexpected. There’s something thrilling in that collision, and I can see myself coming back to it again and again, trying new variations, pushing the effect further, seeing where it takes me. It’s a little laboratory for my curiosity and a space to bend images in ways they weren’t supposed to go, in the most unexpected ways.

Cette série s’appelle Glitch, d’après l’effet numérique que j’ai appliqué aux images. C’est un mélange d’images que je voulais vraiment m’approprier et d’un traitement que j’avais très envie d’expérimenter. J’adore la tension entre des photos très anciennes et des effets contemporains — la manière dont le passé se heurte au présent de façon presque inattendue. Il y a quelque chose de passionnant dans cette collision, et je me vois y revenir encore et encore, tester de nouvelles variations, pousser l’effet plus loin, voir où ça me mène. C’est un petit laboratoire pour ma curiosité, un espace pour plier les images de manières qu’elles n’étaient pas censées prendre, toujours de façon surprenante.
